WargameApps FAQ
Choose with confidence. Build with purpose.
Direct answers to the questions designers should ask before committing their projects, time, and publishing plans to any design platform.
The complete design workflow
Why choose WargameApps?
WargameApps is a growing browser-based design ecosystem built specifically for wargame creators. Create maps, counters, grids, silhouettes, charts, player aids, and professional exports with purpose-built tools designed to support one complete game-design workflow.
Is WargameApps only a map editor?
No. Advanced Map Designer is only one part of the suite. WargameApps also includes tools for counters, production grids, silhouettes, symbols, professional exports, and player aids, with additional design applications in development.
Who is WargameApps for?
WargameApps is designed for homebrew gamers, first-time designers, experienced game designers, independent publishers, clubs, and professional production teams. The tools follow wargame-design workflows instead of requiring creators to adapt general-purpose illustration software.
Can WargameApps create professional-quality work?
Yes. WargameApps provides production-oriented PNG, SVG, and PDF exports depending on the application. Use eligible exports for prototypes, printing, further editing, digital publishing, and commercial projects under the applicable plan and terms.
Compatibility, files, and artwork
Where can I use WargameApps?
WargameApps runs in compatible modern browsers on Windows PCs, Macs, and compatible tablets. No traditional desktop installation is required.
Is an internet connection required?
Yes. An internet connection is required to access the service, verify account access, and receive current application updates.
How should I save and protect my projects?
Use each application's save and export tools and keep backup copies of important editable project files. Browser storage can support convenient workflows, but it should never be the only copy of a long-term project.
Can I import my own artwork?
Supported applications allow imported artwork, icons, symbols, or reference images. You are responsible for having permission to use third-party material that you import.
Can I continue editing exports in other software?
Yes. Depending on the application, WargameApps can export PNG, SVG, or PDF files suitable for printing, publishing, or further work in compatible graphics and layout software.
Subscriptions, trials, and updates
Why is WargameApps subscription-based?
WargameApps is an actively developed service rather than a one-and-done application. Subscriptions support new features, applications, graphics, performance improvements, compatibility work, user-requested enhancements, and direct support.
Will I have to buy future numbered versions?
No separate next-version purchase is planned for applications included with an active subscription. New features and improvements are delivered through the browser-based service.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Eligible subscription plans include a 14-day trial so designers can evaluate the included applications and workflow before regular billing begins.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Cancellation stops future subscription access according to the billing terms. Back up editable project files before access ends. Eligible completed exports created under Designer Pro remain governed by the published Personal and Commercial Use Rights.
Will updates affect my existing projects?
Backward compatibility is an important development priority. Because browser technology, project formats, and imported assets can change, retain backup copies of important editable project files before major updates.
Is WargameApps actively developed?
Yes. New features, graphics, tools, performance improvements, and application updates are released regularly. User requests, bug reports, and real design workflows help guide development.
Ownership and commercial use
Can I use WargameApps commercially?
Yes. Designer Pro includes commercial-use rights for eligible final PDF, PNG, and SVG exports created while Designer Pro or its trial is active, subject to the published Personal and Commercial Use Rights.
Do commercial rights continue after cancellation?
Eligible completed exports created while Designer Pro or its trial was active remain commercially usable after cancellation, subject to the published terms.
Do I own what I create?
Yes. Your original projects and creative contributions remain yours. WargameApps retains ownership of its software, code, and built-in assets, which remain subject to the applicable license terms.
Are there revenue or print-run limits?
WargameApps does not impose its own revenue, print-run, customer, project, or unit limits on eligible Designer Pro exports, subject to the published terms.
Is attribution required?
The "Created by WargameApps" attribution included at the bottom-right of applicable map exports should not be removed. Review the published use-rights page for the complete requirement.
Can built-in graphics be extracted and used separately?
No. Commercial rights apply to eligible final exported maps, counter sheets, and other completed works. Built-in graphics, symbols, silhouettes, code, and application assets may not be extracted or used separately outside the applications.
Help and development
Can I request a feature or report a problem?
Yes. User requests, bug reports, and actual design workflows help guide development. We cannot promise every request, but we listen and prioritize improvements that strengthen the suite.
Where can I get help?
Use the contact page for support, bug reports, and feature requests. You can also watch demonstrations and tutorials on the official WargameApps YouTube channel.
